There are lots of walking possibilities in the area

In the immediate area around Casa Tersalle there are year-round walking possibilities in the local oak and chestnut woods and an ever-changing patchwork of farmland.  There is an abundance of poppies, wild orchids and other wild flowers in spring, glorious warm colours in autumn and crystal clear views in winter.

Among the wildlife to be found in the area are deer, badgers, porcupines, foxes, wild boar, European squirrels, stone martens, and many species of European birds.

Anything from a short relaxing stroll to a day’s serious walking is possible. You can follow some of the routes that we have devised or, if you feel more independent, you can explore the numerous mule tracks and farm tracks around. Some of these walks are waymarked and some not.

Within an easy drive, there are the beech forests of the Casentino area to the north, to the east are the more mountainous Appenines and to the south the hills surrounding Lake Trasimeno.

We can help with advice, maps and route guides (the latter in Italian). As an extra service, Rob is available by prior arrangement (also at short notice) to accompany you and share his local knowledge on any walks in the area.
